Last Night the TV saved My Life

14 06 2007

Uhhh.

Last night was the season finale of Friday Night Lights. I’ts great the Dillon Panthers won state hehehe. Honestly, I could relate to the crowd when at the start of the game the score was 0-26. It’s like cheering for the UP Maroons to win, and nothing happens–we all fall flat on our faces. Though I’m not a big sports fan myself, I can say that the crowd energy, team spirit, blah blah is really something it’s something you can live for ala 300 Glory! Fame! Destiny!

Well its cool that FNL will come back this fall on NBC. I Hope ETC picks it up early like mid-season. And besides Heroes, its one of the most awarded shows of NBC to date, yeyyy!

After that I switched channels to  Star Movies to watch this new Martin Freeman movie (I thought it was a series) The All-Together. It was a good 90mins spent. Really funny brit humor I have begun to like very much. I laughed when I saw the actor who plays Cicero in Rome hehehe.

Then I tried, I tried  to watch Lost (the new season on AXN).

I had the chance to watch the Lost special aka two season recap before the season premiere, and i liked it, so i thought id give the damn show another try.

but i was disappointed. i couldnt understand why a lot of people find this show good. yeah its "mysterious" and all but I mean–does anyone ever notice how the show just dragggggssss. ang bagal ng story. mas okey pa ata na season recaps nalang panoorin mo. Like last night’s episode the old guy tries to find echo who got kidnapped by a polar bear (on a tropical island) tapos tapos na? wtf.

and whats with all the flashbacks which the story can totally go without? for character development?

its a survival show! you have plenty of room to show character development. so the flashbacks are just a waste of runtime.

mr JJ Abrams, I understand that you have to preserve the enigmatic cliff-hanger effect for a more entertaining experience but I’m afraid that its just too much. its okey to keep us all on edge but I mean you have to tone it down a bit. like give us a couple of resolutions, enough to satisfy our curiosity each week. especially if the "truth" is not so great naman like "the others" –oh please.  its like what yuo did on Alias. I mean the Rimbaldi plot was good—but how long can you stretch that kind of plot??? 4 seasons??? i dont think so.

sige na

nabwisit lang ako.

I like all your

depressing,

dark,

harrowing

movies.

i’ll still watch it.

GOAL!

7 06 2007

I had the chance to watch Goal! last night.

A pursue-the-dream flick was good for me.

if things don’t workout, i’ll be a futboll star

or a soccer hooligan.

whichever comes first.

a decouvrir mlle zafra

6 06 2007

to take a break from thinking about my future

i went to cubao to walk and look at stuff.

its a habit of mine to always check out the bookstores, you can browse books all afternoon and it feels like you just went to the bathroom–its an efficient time killer.

as i did my rounds in national bookstore, i stumbled upon a new jessica zafra book! at last!*

(*Referring to a previous post "Where is Jessica Zafra")

so i found out that she keeps a blog:

http://www.jessicarulestheuniverse.com/

and a new column

Emotional Weather Report

every Friday on the Philippine Star.

can’t wait till friday.

Fourth of June

3 06 2007

Summer is officially over.

I’ve got two weeks worth of overcast&rainy days.

I say

"Alas, June."

***

Rainy June I welcome you.

***

Today, an estimated 17Million students have scuttled their butts to school for the first day of classes.

Today, is the start of Enrollment week for most universities.

Today, for the first time in almost two decades

I am excluded from these ceremonious events.

(mind explodes)

***

Now I realize how school is a comfort zone, lucidly. I’d take enrollment and first day of classes anytime–as opposed to, this pimping of self, this torture chamber, this limbo. Job hunting*.

At least in school, the first day of classes bring a certain joy or a challenge. It means an advance to another level, from an idealistic freshman to a disillusioned sophomore to a rebellious junior to a sober senior. Each level taking you a step closer to, ironically, this*.

Oh!

How I already miss these years so so (mong malaki) much.

***

So my search continues.

I just don’t know if how long I can stay picky and snobby.

Cause for now my basis for a Yes or No boils down to

where the

company address

is, and what the

company office

is like.

I’d give it a month more-I don’t know. I’m hoping as hell for two big ones to give me the thumbs-up (even if it’s up my ass).

If it doesn’t happen

fuck it.

I’ll take any job. (asus)

I just want to make some money.

***

Godspeed to all the school students!

you have to believe me when i say that it isnt all bad.
